Sony VAIO NW Series Notebook With 15.5-Inch WXGA XBRITE-ECO LCD Display

The Japanese consumer electronics giant, Sony has unveiled its new family of VAIO notebook – Sony VAIO NW Series, which features high-resolution 15.5-inch WXGA screen display with Sony’s XBRITE-ECO LCD technology, and ‘display off’ button that allows users to turn off the screen aimed for conserving power while the laptop is performing PC functionality in the background, based on Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium OS.



Highlights of Sony VAIO NW Series:

* Up to 2.10GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor for fast processing speeds and multitasking
* 15.5-inch widescreen display with 1366 x 768 pixels resolution
* 4GB RAM and up to 400GB HDD
* Optional dedicated ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4570 graphics card
* Optional Blu-ray Disc ROM drive
* Isolated keyboard and translucent, textured touchpad
* Integrated Wi-Fi, webcam and microphone
* 3 USB ports, ExpressCard, SD and Memory Stick PRO slots
* Dimensions: 14.6 (W) x 1.2 (H) x 9.8 (D) inches ; weight: approximately 6 pounds

“This notebook sets a precedent in the industry merging powerful Blu-ray technology with a portable, head-turning design – all for an unheard of low price,” said Mike Abary, senior vice president of the VAIO business group at Sony.

The new sleek and stylish Sony VAIO NW-series that comes with 3 Sony entertainment software applications including VAIO Movie Story, VAIO MusicBox and Click to Disc/ Editor will be available in walnut brown, birch white and rattan silver colors later this month for a starting price of $800.
